Jhabua Power Limited (JPL), a Joint Venture of NTPC Limited, is a power generation company based at Seoni district in the State of Madhya Pradesh. The site is located near village Barela - Gorakhpur, Tehsil Ghansore of Seoni District.

Shri Ravindra Kumar (DIN: 10523088) has taken charge as Director (Operations), NTPC on 26th February 2024. He completed B.Sc. (Engineering) in Mechanical engineering from BIT Sindri in 1988. Prior to joining as Director (Operations), NTPC Limited, he was OSD (Officer on Special Duty) to Director (Operations), NTPC Limited.
He joined NTPC Limited as Graduate Engineer Trainee officer in 1989 and has more than 34 years of diverse and versatile experience in Commissioning, O&M, Engineering and Project management and has worked in various capacities in O&M function at NTPC Kahalgaon Project. He has exposure of working at Corporate Centre in Engineering department and as a technical support to Director (Technical).
He was actively involved in development of 1st Maitree supercritical power project of Bangladesh India Friendship Power Company Limited (BIFPCL), Bangladesh. During his tenure as Chief Technical Officer (CTO), he spearheaded all Engineering, erection, commissioning, and O&M activities of 660 MW 1st Unit of BIFPCL.
As Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Patratu Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited, he expedited various construction and erection activities.
He is a professional with Corporate and Site experience, people-centric approach, knowledge, and experience of the entire power sector.
He also serves as a director on the boards of several other companies viz; Bhartiya Rail Bijlee Company Limited, NTPC Tamil Nadu Energy Company Limited, NTPC Mining Limited, NTPC GE Power Services Private Limited, Jhabua Power Limited and NTPC BHEL Power Projects Private Limited. Additionally, he is a director on the board of the foreign entity, Bangladesh-India Friendship Power Company Private Limited.
Shri. Govind Subbanna
Shri. Govind Subbanna, (DIN: 08193652) aged around 64 years, is the SBI Nominee Director of our company. He has 37 years of experience in the Banking Industry. Joined State Bank of India in 1983 as Probationary Officer and retired as Chief General Manager in July 2020.
He has vast experience in various aspects of banking like IT and Systems, Branch Banking, International Banking and Corporate Credit. Was deputed to the Bank’s Subsidiary in Canada as Vice President (Credit) handling the Corporate Credit portfolio for the subsidiary from 2002-2006.
Subsequently, after a stint as a Relationship Manager for Mid Corporate accounts, he shifted to Large Corporate Credit handling major conglomerates as Deputy General Manager. Then handled the entire ECB and Syndication portfolio of the Bank in the International Banking Group.
As General Manager developed and handled business relationships for the Bank with Financial Institutions in Financial Institutions Group including reciprocal and agency arrangements before moving to head the Corporate Accounts Group at Delhi. As Chief General Manager oversaw all South Indian Mid Corporate Relationships for both business development and maintenance.
He was a member of various Credit Sanctioning Committees of the Bank. Thereafter tasked with prevention and monitoring of frauds in the bank by incorporation of systems and procedures. He is a science graduate from Delhi University.
Smt. Renu Narang
Smt. Renu Narang, (DIN: 08070565) Executive Director (Finance) of NTPC Limited, a premier organization of Govt. of India and also a Maharatna CPSE engaged in the business of Power Generation, Power trading and Coal Mining.
In addition, she is serving as part time Director on Board(s) of NTPC’s subsidiaries/ joint ventures. She has also held the post of Director (Finance) of Energy Efficiency Services Limited from March 2018 to January 2019. Currently, she is acting as a CEO of NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam Limited.
Smt. Narang has over 31 years of experience in almost all aspects of Finance and Accounts. Resource mobilization from domestic and foreign lenders for both Long Term and Short Term needs has been her forte. Her experience spans over areas in International Finance, Budgeting, Financial Concurrence, Investor Services, Treasury and Superannuation Trusts.
She was also responsible for the implementation of SAP based ERP across the company.
Smt. Narang is a Management Graduate from Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow (1988), which she pursued after a Bachelors’ degree in Commerce (Honours) in 1986 from the Delhi University, Delhi. She has also done LL.B from Delhi University, Delhi in the year 1992.
Shri. Chinmoy Gangopadhyay
Shri. Gangopadhyay, (DIN: 02271398) B.Tech (Electrical Engineer) from IIT, Kharagpur in 1980 and did MBA from the Faculty of Management Studies (FMS), University of Delhi in 1990. He has over 40 years of vast experience with outstanding contributions to power projects.
He had served the industry with his vast knowledge as Director(Projects), Led the PFC Appraisal team to achieve record sanction and disbursement levels in 2017-18 and had maintained the tempo in 2018-19 too.
He had set up a dedicated Stressed Assets Resolution Unit for dealing with stressed assets of about Rs.30k and has been able to put these assets on resolution path. He remodelled PFC’s Renewables Policy, refinancing policy and other policies to achieve more market friendliness and gain business in renewable segment. Also had introduced on-line shortlisting of Solar projects and had opened up new avenues of business opportunity for PFC in areas like Waste to Energy, Sewage Water Treatment Plants, Coal Block Development, Rail Corridor for Coal Movements etc.
As CEO (PFC Consulting Ltd.) provided leadership for consultancy services in power sector and had also handled UMPPs (Ultra Mega Power Projects) - initial site studies, env. clearance, land acquisition, conducting RfP&RfQ processes, coordination with State Govts. & Min. of Power, legal vetting of the bid documents. Worked with the Expert Committee for developing the Revised Bidding Documents for UMPPs.
Shri. Gangopadhyay had also served NTPC from Nov., 1980 to June, 1989 where he prepared FRs and DPRs of 400 kV Substations and Transmission systems and developed single line diagrams, layouts and technical specifications of EHV substations. Simultaneously carried out Bid evaluation and contract negotiations and detailed engineering, approval of vendor drawings, type test reports.
